I can understand the Bush hatred or "Bush derangement syndrome" from those on the left. I know I had no small bit of disdain for Bill Clinton.
Follow up:
Let's accept, for the sake of argument, that Bush's presidency is a failure and most of his major actions and in-actions have been debacles. If that is true, then were not most of his failures due to lack of experience and an acquired level of nuance that only experience can bestow? Could he have delayed the Iraq invasion just one more time to bring in more allies? Could he have seen the Katrina disaster coming? Could he have known that he should never have back peddled on the Niger Yellow Cake controversy?
I believe history will indicate that much good will come from the Bush presidency, but there is no doubt that much of his difficulty was exacerbated by his own inexperience.
Looking at Obama vs McCain, it is clear that the worse attributes of Bush are actually shared by Barack Obama...
They both were...
1) Too inexperienced to be president on day one.
2) An ideologue
3) Went to Harvard
4) Does not speak well without a teleprompter
5) Has a "Call me if you need me." attitude over crises.
6) Has a history of long term drug abuse.
7) Was given special treatment by benefactors of ill repute.
Obama is NOT Change. 3rd Bush term? No, Obama is clearly a 2nd Bush 1st term.
